Description
T-Mobile Sidekick ID Grey, Factory Refurbished, T-Mobile branded
Offered as a Factory Refurbished unit, this grey T-Mobile Sidekick ID has been reconditioned to close-to-new working order and tested, without the sealed retail box of the new listing. Refurbished is the grade collectors and prop buyers usually choose for a display or set piece, where function and the swivel mechanism matter more than packaging.
The Sidekick ID (styled Sidekick iD) is the budget member of T-Mobile's 2007 Sidekick line, built by Sharp on the Danger platform. It keeps the signature swivel screen and full QWERTY keyboard of the Sidekick 3 but drops the camera, Bluetooth, and memory card slot, and sells instead on swappable colored bumpers that snap onto the shell. Service ran on T-Mobile's 2G GSM network, with the Danger data service providing email, AIM, Yahoo, and Windows Live messaging, and a web browser.
Collector shops, prop houses, and nostalgia resellers buy the Sidekick ID from TG Wireless as a recognizable, affordable piece of the Sidekick line for display and collections, even though its network and data services are gone.

Condition: Factory Refurbished
Factory refurbished units have been reconditioned to close-to-new working order. They are not brand new and may show light signs of handling. TG tests and grades each unit before it ships. Tell your account manager whether you need units with the original box and accessories or handset-only packs; the mix varies by lot.
Network and compatibility
The Sidekick ID is a 2G GSM phone with no 3G or LTE. T-Mobile retired 2G GSM on August 3, 2026, and all US 3G networks closed in 2022, so it has no US carrier service today. The Danger data service behind its email, instant messaging, and browser was shut down in 2011, so those features do not work on any network. Units are T-Mobile branded; see the network status line in the table for the lock state. Realistic uses are collections, display, film and TV props, parts, and export voice and SMS where GSM is still live and the unit is unlocked.
Resale fit
- Collector and retro-tech shops completing a Sidekick lineup with the entry model.
- Props and set dressing for mid-2000s scenes, where the swivel screen is instantly recognizable.
- Parts and bumper donors for other Sidekick ID units.
