Description
Sidekick 2008 Black, Factory Refurbished, T-Mobile branded
Factory Refurbished Sidekick 2008 in Black, T-Mobile branded, reconditioned to close-to-new working order with the original battery, charger, user guide, and retail box as listed; lock status is not stated on this listing. Black is the standard Sidekick 2008 shell and the unit collectors and prop houses ask for first when they need a recognizable swivel-screen messaging phone.
The T-Mobile Sidekick 2008, built by Sharp, is the messaging phone that defined the Sidekick line: a 2.6-inch 400 x 240 display that swivels up to reveal a full QWERTY keyboard, a 2 MP camera and camcorder, a music player, stereo Bluetooth, a microSD slot, and interchangeable shells. It ran the Danger OS with push email, AIM, Yahoo, and Windows Live messaging on T-Mobile's EDGE network, and it was the first Sidekick with a Spanish interface.
TG Wireless sells the Sidekick 2008 to collectors and prop houses that want the swivel-screen Sidekick in working order, and to parts and display buyers; it is no longer a service device.

Condition: Factory Refurbished
Factory refurbished units have been reconditioned to close-to-new working order. They are not brand new and may show light signs of handling. TG tests and grades each unit before it ships. Tell your account manager whether you need units with the original box and accessories or handset-only packs; the mix varies by lot.
Network and compatibility
The Sidekick 2008 is a 2G GSM phone with EDGE data and no 3G or LTE, carrying T-Mobile branding. T-Mobile retired its 2G GSM network on August 3, 2026, after all US carriers closed 3G in 2022, so the Sidekick has no US service today. Its email, messaging, and web features also depended on the Danger back-end service, which shut down in 2011, so even on a live foreign GSM network it works only as a phone, camera, and music player. See the network status line in the table for the listing-level status.
